Putting aside the question of whether thatās necessary, Iām puzzled as to the location. Clymer doesnāt mention a fuel filter for the carberator-version of the Aero, but many forum posts direct you to
When the forks on my Shadow got wallowy at the end of a day of riding, I suspected the old fluid needed replacing. A bit of research showed the recommended fluid is Honda SS-8, which turns out to be 10W equivalent. I went one grade thicker (15W) and it did help improve the response. But I also shi

I use the Bosch 3323 oil filter on my Aero 750. Tested, has superior filtering. It will most likely fit yours (edit, maybe not, I thought it was the Spirit VT750C2, but they didn't make those until 2007. My bad!). $6.99 at AutoZone. It's a little longer, so I was able to use a full 3 quarts of oil with this filter.
Honda specifies a 4,000 mile oil change interval for the air cooled, non-filtered, 250. By comparison, Kawasaki calls for a 3,000 mile interval on their water cooled, oil filtered, VN750 Vulcan. IIRC, both redline at about the same rpms. There are parallels between a lawn mower engine and the 250.
The Honda Shadow RS / VT750RS has 4000 mile / 6400 km service intervals. But you only need to change the oil every 8000 miles / 12800 km or annually. The valve service interval is also every 8000 miles / 12800 km, but has no time-based interval (i.e. you donāt need to do it annually, as you do the oil change).
jfusa. The only tool that you should need is a 17mm wrench. I use a box end wrench. If the oil filter is on too tight, you'll might use a strap wrench or filter wrench to get it off. Filter should be installed hand tight. I use a funnel to pour oil into the bike, so I don't give it an oil bath. I also put oil in the new oil filter, at least 1/2
gdb069. My 1995 VT1100c2 owners manual indicates 8000 miles between oil changes, however I do it minimally every 2 years with coolant flush. I have no idea why some people insist on changing before the required period. I have had my oil analyzed and more frequent changes do not improve wear or oil function.
